Following public consultations, BC Transit has presented the City of Terrace with their proposed improvement plan for the City’s routes.
Five initiatives highlight the Utility’s goals over the next four years: the low carbon fleet program aimed at converting their fleet to fully electric, an electronic fares collection strategy, a digital on-demand booking service, a door to door pick up pilot program, and a referral program stressing local consultation.
For Terrace specifically, Transit plans to modify the number 2 City shuttle route to increase service to seniors, introduce Sunday service at the current Saturday levels, and extending service to run from 6:00 in the morning to 11:00 at night, on one hour intervals.
In total, BC Transit ridership in Terrace is down 31 percent since the start of the pandemic.
