Some medical professionals gave a presentation on the future of health care in Prince Rupert at last night’s Prince Rupert city council meeting.
One of the main goals that was outlined last night was the plan to focus on recruiting people both locally and regionally since several physicians left their jobs in the city over the summer.
Another thing that they aiming to do is to make potential patient travels affordable, a welcoming experience as well as something that patients chose to do.
But perhaps the presentation’s biggest idea was the plan to try and revive the Health Communities Integration Committee so that medical professionals could work with the community better and so that residents could give their feedback on what hospitals could be doing better.
Prince Rupert’s mayor Lee Brain said that he was in favor of the Integration committee being brought back.
