All four fish harvest sites monitored by Lax Kw’alaams have passed their most recent biotoxin tests.
Both the DFO and Canadian Food Inspection Agency require regular submissions of biotoxin analysis to open harvest areas.
Three consecutive mussel samples containing acceptable levels of biotoxin must be submitted to open an area.
Harvest areas at the Steamer Passage, Canoe Passage, Pearl Harbour, and Clam Inlet sites all passed their November 1st test.
That makes three consecutive positive biotoxin test results for all four harvest areas.
None of the four sites have failed a test since September 22nd, when the Canoe Passage and Pearl Harbour areas failed their tests.
