My late father Robert William Alexcee, from Lax kw’alaams B.C.
He served and fought over seas against Japan-with the Canadian Army-paratrooper/Code Talker-of whom was fluent in 3 Native dialects ~Tsimpshian, Nisgaa’ and Witsuwetan, and English.
He was also captured along with many, and was put into a P.O.W. camp in Japan, unfortunately he was a lone survivor out of 247 men-of which he managed to escape-but barely.
I’m a Legionnaire of the Royal Canadian Legion, and have been marching every year since I’ve joined in 1996’.
I’m very proud to do this in Honor of my dad and many who never made it home and to represent my village of Lax kw’alaams.
Thank you CFNR for posting my dad’s story.
You are most welcome…!
