While they may have registered less cases than the week before, Terrace still led the Northwest in Covid cases last week, the fifth in a row.
Last week, the Terrace Local Health Area saw 63 new cases of Covid, down from 81 the week before.
Prince Rupert saw a modest jump to 11 cases from 10 the prior week, Kitimat went from 1 case to 8 last week, and Haida Gwaii remained steady at one case.
Smithers saw a slight gain in cases, going from 31 to 33, Burns Lake saw the Northwest’s biggest jump, going from 16 to 40, and the Nisga’a Health Area fell to 8 cases, 10 less than the week before.
In the Northeast, things remained similar to the week before, Prince George saw 128 cases, the Peace North saw 114 cases, and the South 80.
Quesnel matched their previous week’s case total with 69.
In terms of vaccination rates, among eligible residents, the only Northern region with a single dose rate under 70 percent is now he Peace South at 68 percent.
