A combination of Covid and extreme weather events led to another week of surgical postponements in BC.
In total, 219 non-urgent surgeries were postponed last week, with 88 in Interior Health, and in the Northern Health Authority.
In contrast to previous weeks however, the majority of surgeries delayed last week were due to weather impacts on the Fraser Health Authority, rather than Covid.
In total, just under 3,700 surgeries have been postponed in BC since September 5th.
A total of 150 patients have now been transferred from Northern Health to other Authorities, with 117 of those testing positive for Covid.
Just under 81 percent of acute care beds, and 66 percent of critical care beds across BC are currently full.
