The Provincial Health Officer for BC has come out and said that it’s not guaranteed that COVID-19 booster shoots will be needed every six months.
Dr. Bonnie Henry also said that even though BC is starting to give out these boosters in that period of time, future booster shots will depend on what’s happening around the planet.
Henry went on to mention that COVID mutates when it can spread rapidly in a big population, which is the main reason why international vaccine efforts are taken so seriously.
The last thing that Henry said was that vaccine equity is the key to decreasing the risk of the virus mutating and hence why vaccine boosters are needed in the eyes of the government.
