Northern Health is reminding Prince Rupert residents that there are alternatives to long emergency room waits.
Prince Rupert has been facing higher than usual patient volumes for some time now, and it is leading to crowded emergency rooms.
Because of this, residents seeking care for non-urgent reasons are all but guaranteed a lengthy wait.
But, Northern Health would like to remind residents that physically visiting the ER isn’t the only way to access help.
Originally established to provide support during Covid, Northern Health’s Virtual Primary and Community Care Clinic now offers a full range of health services via video call.
Using this service, patients can speak with and receive care from health professionals inside the comfort of their own homes.
It also helps to ease the load on staff at the Hospital sites, and free lineups for urgent matters.
You can reach the line anytime between 10:00 and 10:00 daily at 1 844 645 7811.
