Smithers residents with wood burning stoves or heaters are being asked to upgrade their equipment, but not for free.
Residents looking to upgrade their wood stoves could be eligible for as much as 3,000 dollars in rebates from a pair of programs.
Rebates of between 250 and 1,500 dollars can be claimed from the Airshed Management Society.
Interested residents may also be eligible for up to 1,500 dollars in additional coverage by the Town of Smithers itself.
Costs of equipment, labour, materials, and more are all eligible for coverage with the funding.
You can apply through the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District Airshed Management Society to automatically apply for both streams.
