Two newly created streets in Terrace will sport the names of a pair of the City’s most prominent surveyors.
Thanks to the new subdivision at 4012 Thomas Street, two new municipal roads will be created, and roads need names.
In honour of David Dediluke, a cul-de-sac created in the subdivision will be named Dediluke Place.
David moved to Terrace to begin his career as a surveyor in 1968, before founding Dediluke Land Surveying Inc in 1984.
He spent the better part of the next three decades contributing to the Terrace community before passing away in 2017.
A second road running east to west created by the subdivision will be named Nash Drive, after fellow surveyor Fred Nash.
Fred migrated to Haida Gwaii from England before eventually settling in Terrace in 1920, and working as a surveyor across Northern BC.
He would remain in Terrace until he passed away in 1967.
