For the first time in months, Terrace did not lead the Northwest in Covid cases last week.
That unfortunate distinction went to Kitimat last week, who saw their case total jump to 39 from just 8 two weeks ago.
Terrace saw 19 cases, down from 26 the previous week, Prince Rupert dropped from 8 cases to 5, and Haida Gwaii saw no cases for the second week in a row.
There was one case reported in the Nisga’a Health Area, up from none two weeks ago, Smithers dropped from 7 cases to 4, and Burns Lake saw 2 cases, one less than the prior report.
In the east, the Peace North and South saw 39 and 14 cases, respectively, Prince George reported 53, and Quesnel saw 15 cases, all down from the previous week.
As the numbers are from last week, they do not yet factor for the boom in cases in the South brought on by Omicron.
