After receiving some complaints from residents regarding how snow is being cleared, the city of Terrace is taking steps to rectify the situation.
Terrace’s Communications advisor, Kate Lautens, sent out a statement saying that the city has made a webpage called ‘Snow Removal 101: The Facts on Snow Clearing in Terrace’ to let people know how they plow snow, after several residents made it known that they were unhappy with the fact that the city’s plowing was creating snow windrows in some driveways.
The city made sure to tell the residents that they were sorry about how their methods for snow clearing were creating those windrows. They also pointed out their current equipment makes it difficult to avoid side effects like windrows.
However, the city did offer a solution to help residents get rid of windrows by letting people know that they should get a hold of Volunteer Terrace, an organization with a program that helps clear up snowy driveways for those who can’t do so themselves.
Still, the main place for people to go if they want more info about snow removal is the webpage and should anyone have any other questions, they can call the number 250-615-4021 or go to terrace.ca/snow.
