Fresh art work will soon be on public display in Terrace, after receiving Council approval last night.
Three recommendations proposing new public art displays were brought before councillors by the Public Art Advisory Panel yesterday.
One proposal would see a series of three new banners designed by Marie-Christine Claveau enter in to the rotation of gateway banners displayed near Dudley Little Bridge, entering town.
Another recommendation saw Council lend support to the installation of a steel sculpture of a treed bear on parkland.
Designed by local artist Steve Rogers, the sculpture would be installed on a prominent cottonwood tree near the Uptrack Trail on Terrace Mountain.
With City support, Rogers will apply for grant funding to support the project.
The third proposal will see a sculpture carved by First Nations artist Nakkita Trimble installed on the corner of Lazelle and Kalum.
Council voted unanimously to receive the report from the Panel, including all recommendations included.
