BC Transit has some good news in line for British Columbians who are tired of waiting for the bus.
Throughout the new year, Transit will be installing Automatice Vehicle Location technology in their vehicles.
This technology will allow riders to track their bus’s location in real time, and get updates on predicted arrival times.
Through their NextRide program, the technology will see a phased install this year on more than 300 buses across the province.
In the North, Dawson Creek and Fort St John will see the new systems before anyone else, planned for a spring install.
Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Port Edward, the Skeena system, and Prince George will all get summer phase-in dates.
Residents will be able to access information through the Transit App, or Google Maps.
