A collision involving a logging truck east of Houston yesterday, which closed a stretch of Highway 16, has claimed one life.
RCMP first received reports of the incident at the intersection of Highway 16 and McKillgan Road just before 7:30 yesterday morning.
A Pontiac Sunfire and logging truck had collided before coming to a rest across a CN Rail spur line.
The driver of the Sunfire was pronounced dead on the scene, and the logging truck driver is being medically evaluated.
Rail traffic was momentarily shut down, and the road closed with a detour in place while officers investigated.
Road conditions were poor and police do not believe there to be anything suspicious about the crash.
