Indigenous Services Canada has released their most recent report on how Covid is impacting Indigenous communities.
As of this Wednesday, there have been 60,703 confirmed Covid cases in First Nations communities, with 5,160 active cases.
There have been a total of 2,514 hospitalizations as a result since the pandemic started, and 575 deaths reported.
Across the country, First Nations communities have seen a 52 percent increase in cases from last week.
84 percent of those aged 12 and older living in First Nations, Inuit, and territorial communities have received at least two vaccinations.
Indigenous Services Canada is in the process of securing 2.5 million rapid antigen tests, which will then be distributed among the communities.
