Guidelines for when BC residents should look to get tested for whether or not they have COVID have just been updated.
Getting a test is not recommended when you do not have any symptoms even if you have been a close contact of someone who tested positive or when you have mild symptoms but are also Fully Vaccinated.
However, if you do have some lesser symptoms while having two vaccine doses, it’s still recommended that you isolate for 5 days and make your close contacts aware that you have said symptoms.
Getting a test is recommended when you have symptoms and a higher chance of getting sick or if you live in a high risk setting like a care home or a rural community and have these symptoms.
If you’re unsure about your symptoms, get in contact with your health care provider or call 8-1-1.
