One Terrace resident has learned the hard way that wagons do not make particularly good getaway vehicles, and I don’t mean station wagons.
RCMP have arrested Walter Bowman after they caught him red handed with a wagon full of stolen property.
While on patrol in the early hours of January 13th, officers spotted Bowman struggling to pull the wagon through the snow-filled streets.
When they stopped to speak with Bowman, they found his explanation unsatisfactory, and seized the items, suspecting them to be stolen.
A short time later, police received a report from a local business that two of their vehicles had been broken in to, and that they had video footage of the suspect loading stolen property in to a wagon.
After receiving additional reports about the same man, police relocated Bowman, and arrested him on a number of theft related charges.
An investigation is on-going and anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Terrace RCMP at 250 638 7400.
