A residential structure fire in Prince Rupert from this weekend sent two to hospital and claimed the life of a pet.
Members of the Prince Rupert Fire Department arrived to tackle the blaze on the 1900 block of 11th Avenue East just before noon.
Crews were concerned over the threat of spread due to high winds at the time, but were able to quickly contain the flames.
Two tenants escaped the home prior to crews arrival, and were subsequently transferred to hospital.
Fire fighters located a cat inside, but were unable to resuscitate it.
While the cause of the fire is unknown, it is not believed to be suspicious.
