In a rare beacon of light during the pandemic, most areas of the North saw a noteworthy drop in Covid cases last week.
Terrace saw 81 cases last week, a drop from 116 two weeks ago, Prince Rupert reported 20 fewer cases with 70 last week, Kitimat saw 48 down from 51, and Haida Gawii went from 28 to 23 cases last week.
Smithers led the Northwest again, but saw a huge drop from 293 cases two weeks back to 131 last week, and the Upper Skeena went to 34 from 40.
Burns Lake was among the few Health Areas to gain cases, going to 60 from 53, and the Nechako Health Area joins them with a rise from 41 to 76.
In the Northeast, the Peace North and South saw 105 and 107 cases, respectively, Prince George reported 532, and Quesnel saw 51 new cases last week.
