Smithers RCMP seized drugs, cash, and weapons following a speed-related traffic stop from Wednesday morning.
At around 11:00 Wednesday morning, police pulled a vehicle over for speeding on Highway 16, near Witset.
During the stop, police observed drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight inside the vehicle.
After searching the driver, a man from the Terrace area, police discovered evidence of drug trafficking, and a loaded handgun, and apprehended the man.
In total, officers seized around 12,000 dollars in cash, large quantities of drugs believed to be cocaine and meth, multiple cellphones, a loaded gun, and ammunition.
The driver, who was also in breach of several court conditions, was issued a ticket for the traffic stop, and had his vehicle seized.
He was released to appear in court at a later date to face numerous charges stemming from the incident.
