Prince Rupert City Council approved a request to allow for both a cost and commissioning consultant to be hired to work on the city’s new RCMP detachment.
This decision was made at last night’s city council meeting.
The main benefit that a cost consultant will provide for this project is that they will be able to provide a more refined estimate of what this project should cost.
The consultant’s estimate will then be used for a reference point for when the project reaches certain milestones in it’s construction.
A commissioning consultant will be in charge of the commissioning process for every division of construction and they will make sure all equipment and systems are used properly.
