Terrace RCMP seized numerous stolen items, weapons, and drugs following a raid on a camp near the airport.
In the fall and winter months of last year, police were made aware of a makeshift squatters camp set up off a forest road near Jack Talstra Way.
They suspected the camp was being used to facilitate crime and partnered with the Conservation Service, Bylaw Officers, and Natural Resource Officers to monitor the area.
Last Tuesday, police attended the site, where they found numerous trailers, but just one occupant at the time.
Conservation Officers issued the male occupant a ticket for attracting dangerous wildlife, due to the litter at the camp.
While investigating the site, police observed stolen property, and had the man arrested, before obtaining a search warrant.
A deeper search of the camp unveiled stolen motorcycles, propane tanks, and a chain saw, as well as prohibited weapons, and over 400 grams of suspected illicit drugs.
Police later released the arrested man, but believe there to be additional suspects, and are continuing to investigate.
