After two years of Covid cancellations, Prince Rupert’s 8th annual Salmon Festival is set to return this Spring.
Hosted by the Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Dancers, the event is put on each spring to celebrate the return of salmon.
However, with the pandemic in full force, the event was shelved in both 2020 and 2021.
But, just like the salmon it celebrates, the event is set to make a return on May 28th, with celebrations hosted out of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Dancers from Prince Rupert and Port Edward will be on hand to join in cultural singing, dancing, and drumming.
Vendors and groups looking to register can e-mail salmonfestival@live.com , or call 250 627 1595.
