Terrace RCMP were called out last week to assist a man who had been pepper sprayed, only to discover the victim was a wanted man.
At around 3:00 Thursday afternoon, police received a report of a possible assault outside a local gas station.
According to staff at the attached variety store, the man had run in to the store proclaiming to have been pepper sprayed.
Staff helped the man wash out his eyes, before calling the police.
But when they did, the pepper spray victim fled the store, yelling that he had a warrant.
Police were able to identify and locate the man, who was wanted on four outstanding warrants, and arrest him.
EHS were called in to provide treatment for the pepper spray, and the assault is being investigated further.
