Northern schools benefiting from program that provides local food

A relatively new initiative known as Feed BC is going to be providing locally-sourced food to 20 of BC’s public post-secondary schools.

Of the 20 partners in the program, 3 have campuses in the North: Coast Mountain College, the College of New Caledonia and the University of Northern BC.

This initiative has been a major focus of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries along with several other provincial food agencies and stakeholders.

Feed BC offers several program supports so that their partners are able to source local food, tools, business-to-business opportunities and other resources.
