It’s no secret that British Columbians, especially those in the North, are facing a housing crisis.
But, newly appointed Municipal Affairs Minister Nathan Cullen says the solution to that crisis will be different for each community.
Cullen says their funding approach will fill the needs of each community, rather than have Victoria dictate their plans.
As more and more industrial projects are approved in the North, the need for all types of housing continues to rise.
Cullen says that previous efforts have failed to meet these needs, but that he is up to the challenge of bringing more housing to smaller communities.
Since taking his new role, Cullen has been meeting with municipal leadership to help determine their priorities and how to help them fill their needs.
