A vehicle collision from this weekend led RCMP in New Hazelton to discover and seize a sizable quantity of drugs.
Police were initially called out to the single-vehicle crash on Highway 16, west of Witset on Saturday.
Paramedics had removed a man in his 30s from the vehicle prior to the launching of an investigation.
As part of that investigation, police found a significant amount of suspected fentanyl, powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, and crystal meth in the vehicle.
They also seized a knife, scale, cell phone, drug paraphernalia, and cash, while searching the vehicle, which was then impounded.
An investigation is on-going, and anyone who has observed suspicious, drug-related, activity is asked to reach out to their local law enforcement.
