A new proposal put forward by the City of Prince Rupert aims to bring hundreds of new homes to the community.
Today, the City released a notice of intent to transfer three city-owned parcels to Prince Rupert Legacy Inc, the city’s wholly-owned development corporation.
Areas covered under the proposal include: city-owned properties at the end of 11th Avenue East, a parcel above the old Westview School, and some lands adjacent to Shawatlans Road.
Residents can send feedback and input on the proposal via e-mail to rosamaria.miller@princerupert.ca , by 4:00 in the afternoon on April 1st.
Should the proposed transfer go ahead, Legacy will begin inviting developers to make offers on the parcels which meet the City’s Official Community Plan.
Two of the parcels are zoned residential, while one, the one near Shawatlans Road, is zoned industrial and public use.
Proposals can be sent to robert.buchan@princerupert.ca.
