A delegation from the City of Terrace is headed to Victoria next week to discuss safety concerns with a number of provincial ministers.
It also prompted a number of letter sent by local businesses expressing concerns over theft, property damage, and public safety, particularly in the downtown.
In their initial resolution, the City called out the Prosecution Service for not doing enough to crack down on repeat offenders.
But, that motion was quickly shot down by RCMP, who said it was not something that was within their power to enact.
Now, with pandemic restrictions loosening, the city has decided to set up a meeting with provincial leaders.
Municipal Affairs Minister Nathan Cullen, Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth, Mental Health and Addictions Minister Sheila Malcolmson, and Attorney General David Eby will all be present for the meeting.
Terrace representatives will depart on March 31st, and include: Mayor Carol Leclerc, Councillor Sean Bujtas, and CAO Kris Boland.
