Six new child care facilities in the Northwest have been added to the province’s $10 per day Child Care Program.
They will join more than 6,500 facilities across BC benefiting from the program, which will see families pay no more than $200 per month for child care.
In Terrace, three new facilities will join the program, including both P.A.C.E.S Day Care sites, offering 76 total spaces, and the 176 space Terrace Coast Mountain Children Society.
Kitimat will see the 33 spaces at the Kitimat Coast Mountain Children Society added to the program, and Kitimaat Village gets 34 spaces at C’imo’ca Child Care.
And in Smithers, the Witsuwit’en Child and Family Centre will add 29 new spaces to the program.
BC hopes to bring the total number of facilities participating in the program up to 12,500 by the end of the year.
