A new name runs hand-in-hand with an important survey for the former Leisure Services Department in Terrace.
During a regular meeting on Monday, Council approved the name change to the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Culture.
City staff thought the name better encapsulated the department’s duties, and better reflects their goals.
Time is also running up for residents to take part in an on-going online public engagement session, which closes at midnight on Friday.
That survey asks residents how the city can improve activities and programs for youth, or those under 18, offered by the department.
Families are being asked to respond on behalf of youth in their families.
