Houston RCMP were able to arrest a dangerous suspect last week, after he crashed in to a police vehicle.
On March 23rd, police began receiving information of possible drug trafficking on the 2000 block of Pearson Road, and launched an investigation.
When they arrived, they observed heavy traffic at a specific residence, and eventually noticed a vehicle known to be driven by a man actively involved in criminal activity.
However, when police attempted to make the arrest, the man attempted to flee in his vehicle, but crashed in to a police vehicle.
He then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended a short distance away.
When officers searched his vehicle, they discovered a loaded firearm, as well as suspected fentanyl, cocaine, meth, and cash.
A youth was also found in the vehicle at the time, who police arrested but later released to the care of a guardian.
Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested, but later released to appear in court in July.
Anyone with information they believe to be of assistance in the investigation is asked to contact Houston RCMP at 250 845 2204.
