Polarizing federal Conservative leadership hopeful Pierre Poilievre says more than 1,000 people were in attendance for his Prince George meet and greet.
Poilievre hosted the event out of the Coast Hotel on Friday, as part of a tour of BC, which wrapped up yesterday.
Prince George MP, and leadership campaign co-chair Todd Doherty, and Prince George- Peace River MP Bob Zimmer were also present for the event.
During the event, Zimmer announced he would be advising Poilievre on firearms policies, as well as conservation.
Poilievre’s campaign has gained massive attention in recent months for his open online criticism of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Most of that criticism has focused on rising housing costs, overspending, and what Poilievre calls a lack of freedom.
He says his campaign aims to give Canadians control of their lives back.
Elections for the next leader of the Conservative Party of Canada will take place on September 10th.
