Two men were rescued from their burning fishing vessel near Prince Rupert this weekend by the crew of a passing ferry.
Early Sunday morning, the BC Ferries ship was passing by Arthur Passage, when crew members noticed the flames.
They brought the ferry to a stop, and deployed two crew members to rescue the fishing vessel’s two occupants via motor boat.
They were brought back to the ferry, and temporarily cared for by medically trained passengers, before a lifeboat launched out of Prince Rupert by the Canadian Coast Guard, could arrive.
Once the Coast Guard vessel brought the fisherman back to shore, they were transported to hospital for further care.
