Bear season is on the way, and the Conservation Officer Service is sending some reminders to residents of the northwest.
Over the next few weeks, the Service is expecting to see an uptick in the number of bears entering communities in the area.
In order to limit bear-human interactions, the Service is asking residents to put away compost and animal feeders, and secure their garbage.
Lockable garbage cans and more frequent trips to the landfill are recommended to try and reduce bear attractants.
Anyone who spots a bear in a residential area can contact the RAPP line at 1 877 952 7277 to report sightings to the Service.
