As Terrace looks to complete its transition to full curbside collection, the City is seeking public input on how to fit yard waste collection in to the program.
Recycling, refuse, and organics are already collected using automated vehicles, and the City is eyeing a few options to include yard waste.
One option is to have residents purchase a solid yard waste bin, to allow for pick-up by automated trucks.
Another would see two weeks each year, one in the fall and one in the spring, designated for unlimited compost pick-up, in addition to the current allowable use of organic waste bins.
Option three would be to create a transfer station-style yard waste drop-off location for residents to bring yard waste at no cost.
And the final option put forward by the City is to promote the use of residential backyard composting.
A survey is currently running until May 13th online, where residents can give their feedback or provide other options.
