Six communities in the Northwest will split close to $500,000 in FireSmart grants for 2022.
FireSmart funding is intended to help communities complete wildfire risk-reduction projects, and fuel-management activities.
Those communities are among 107 receiving funding through the Community Resiliency Investment grant program.
Separate funding of up to $150,000 is also available to eligible applicants of the Union of BC Municipalities’ FireSmart Community Funding and Supports Program.
