VIA Rail’s Jasper to Prince Rupert route is planning to return to normal service levels this summer.
Beginning on June 10th, the route will be restored to its pre-pandemic service level of three round-trips per week.
Service to the route was temporarily cut entirely in March of 2020, as a casualty of Covid-prompted service cuts.
But in July of that year, service was returned to the route, albeit at a reduced interval of one round trip per week.
VIA has now announced the next phase of their gradual service resumption plan, with most routes re-opening in June.
Among those routes is the Jasper to Prince Rupert route, which features an overnight stop in Prince George.
