A development project looking to bring more housing to Kitimat is making a comeback after being thwarted by Covid.
In 2019, a development permit was issued to bring a 35 unit residential development to the corner of Nalabila Boulevard and Wakita Avenue.
However, that permit expired in October of last year with the developer unable to move forward due to a shortage of workers during the pandemic.
But, developer IAG Enterprises returned to Council last night to revive the project, with some minor modifications.
It will now feature 34 multi-family residential units split across 7 building blocks with a shared roofline.
Each unit will be between 1,300 and 1,800 square feet, with local design themes and forms incorporated.
Council voted to send the application through to the Advisory Planning Commission for review and consideration.
