Numerous drugs, vehicles, and weapons were seized as part of a drug investigation which recently wrapped up in Kitimat.
Split over two periods from January 13th to the 15th, and March 3rd to the 8th, the investigation targeted individuals known to be involved in the drug trade.
With conventional methods previously used in Kitimat proving unsuccessful, the detachment resorted to the Provincial Tactical Enforcement Priority targeting process.
Through PTEP, they were able to acquire the funding to undertake 5 search warrants in the community.
Through those warrants, police were able to seize over half a pound of cocaine, and small quantities of meth and MDMA.
They also seized 10 long guns, including a compound crossbow, and loaded pistol-grip shotgun, as well as cash.
Three vehicles were also seized during the investigation, with the intent to sell them through civil forfeiture proceedings.
Initially, the investigation was launched with one specific target in mind, who was arrested.
During the investigation, officers also discovered another high-level target, confirmed to be working in industry and using his position to sell drugs.
In total, police have forwarded charges to 10 individuals to the prosecution service for approval.
Those individuals will be identified in a media release once charges have been put through.
