City of Terrace Extends Deadline to Participate in Yard Waste Collection Survey

With Terrace looking to complete their transition to fully automated curbside waste collection, the City is asking you how to include yard waste in the program.

Refuse, recycling, and organics are already collected using automated trucks.

In order to figure out how to fit yard waste into the program, the City is running an online consultation, with four options presented.

Option one would require residents to purchase a solid yard waste bin, to allow for pick-up by automated vehicles.

A second option would see one week in the fall and one in the spring designated for unlimited pick-up for compost bags, which allow yard waste.

Option three would see the City create a transfer station set up specifically for yard waste drop-off.

And the final option would see the City promote the use of backyard residential composting.

Initially, the deadline to send in feedback was tomorrow, but the City has now extended that to June 24th, and you can follow this link to the survey.
