If you live in the Northwest and happen to have some hazardous waste to get rid of, then you’re in luck this weekend.
This weekend, the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine and their partners are providing two opportunities to ditch that waste for free.
Terrace area residents can head to the Do Your Part recycling facility at 3467 Highway 16 between 10:00 and 3:00 Saturday afternoon to take part.
Those closer to Kitimat can do the same at the Lower Mall Parking Lot on Lahakas Boulevard between 11:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon on Sunday.
Accepted products include: brake fluid, paint or paint thinner, acidic cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, motor oil, and more.
Items not being accepted include: biomedical and infectious waste, explosives, radioactive materials, electronics, most appliances, tires, and more.
For more information on whether your waste qualifies, you can contact the Regional District at 250 615 6100.
