After delivering over sized garbage bins to every resident who ordered them, the City of Prince Rupert has finally gotten their new solid waste and recycling pick up program fully up and running.
Getting the bins out to the residents was considered one of the most crucial parts of this recycling service since they are the only bins that can be picked up by the city’s new dual-bay waste vehicle and automated loading arm.
About $700,000 of this project’s funds came from the Canada Community-Building Fund, which is administered by the Union of B.C. Municipalities.
In the release that announced the completion of the bin rollout, the city also gave thanks to their residents for being patient with the implementation of this program.
