A message has been sent out by the District of Kitimat, stating that they are looking for parties that would be interested in applying for a new grant program.
This program is called the Demolition of Vacant and Derelict Properties or DVDP grant program, and it’s purpose is to give funding to whoever is willing to demolish derelict and vacant buildings in specific areas of the District.
The program lasts for one year and provides a 30 percent rebate for demolition work that equals more than $50,000.
The max amount of money that can be given out through the program is $85,000.
In order to apply, interested parties need to send a letter to the District via mail, fax or email, detailing what part of the program interests them as well as their qualifications and how they would conduct their work.
