Nine not-for-profit projects in the North are among 51 province-wide splitting $3.8 million in newly announced Community Gaming Grants.
Just under $18,000 will go towards a community engagement for renovations planned for the Terrace Art Association.
Houston Search and Rescue gets $28,000 to go toward the purchase of a new rescue truck.
Roughly $48,000 will support efforts to repair and modernize the aging elevator at the Quesnel and District Child Development Centre.
Over $52,000 will help fund the expansion of the Likely and District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Society’s Firehall.
And $75,000 will go toward the removal of environmental waste from an abandoned mine near Gataga River.
