An update has been sent out by the town of Smithers regarding their downtown landscape revitalization project.
They made it clear that the project is in full swing and it will end with the installation of many items such as 753 shrubs, 26 benches, 88 staked trees, 10 more garbage and recycling combo bins and new irrigation in the planter areas.
At the moment, this project’s contractor, Lyon’s Landscaping, is removing the old landscape features and getting the new curbs and retaining walls that will outline the brand new planting areas ready to be installed.
Right now, this work is happening along Main Street and it takes place from 7 AM to 7 PM on Monday through Saturday and Sidewalks on Main Street should remain open for the duration of the construction.
Most of the work is expected to be done come August.
