Marine-based thefts have kept Kitimat RCMP busy over the past few weeks, with two more reports coming in last week.
On May 20th, police were informed of a motor valued at $7,665, which was stolen off of its boat while in the Sue Channel at some point last week.
The next day, police received a separate report of two crab traps being stolen from Emsley Cove between May 19th and the 20th.
Each of the steel traps are also engraved with a name, phone number, and the boat’s name, “Free Spirits”.
But that wasn’t the first instance of fishing gear theft for that victim, who also reported their prawn set up had been stolen the week before.
Those reports come just a week after a set of dog-bone and square box crab traps in Clio Bay were also reported stolen.
Anyone with information on any of the thefts should contact Kitimat RCMP at 250 632 7111.
