Northern British Columbia’s only Diagnostic Medical Sonography program hit a number of key milestones over the past year.
Despite being just three years old, the College of New Caledonia’s program is already making impacts on the industry in the North.
Last fall, the program received its officialy accreditation, streamlining the process for graduates to become fully licensed sonogpraphers.
Their first group of graduates completed the course around the same time, out-performing the national average on credentialing exams.
But there is still a great need for more sonographers, especially in the North, with 400 job openings expected over the next decade.
