Terrace City Council has been asked to provide input for the province’s on-going investigation in to prolific offenders and related crime.
Terrace was among the first municipalities to bring concerns over the province’s “catch-and-release” style approach before Ministers, during a delegation to Victoria in March.
They left that delegation with a promise of a follow-up in roughly two weeks, but have heard nothing in the 8 weeks since.
But, during their last meeting, Mayor Leclerc made mention of an e-mail received prior to the meeting from one of the panel members, ex-Vancouver Police Chief Doug LePard.
While the panel is not likely to visit the north, LePard has asked City Council to provide feedback, a request they say they will discuss further at a future council meeting.
